Who Are We?

The Inner West Beekeepers are a group of people passionate about urban beekeeping in Sydney's Inner West. We are a Sub-branch of the Amateur Beekeepers Association of New South Wales. We explore and engage in all forms and methods of beekeeping including Australian native bees and European honeybees. Our members are made up of people that utilise different hive systems and designs including Langstroth hives, Warre hives and Top Bar hives. We have people with different skill levels and specialities and encourage new people to get involved in our activities including workshops, discussions, apiary trips and skillshare events.

Our Aims

  • Support and work with bee populations and encourage healthy ecologies in the Inner West
  • ¬†Educate, experiment with, and promote all forms of responsible urban beekeeping with our members and the broader community
  • Support current and new urban beekeepers through mentoring and other opportunities
  • Provide a platform for the sharing of skills and information relevant to all forms of urban beekeeping
